You are invited to come witness the creativity, originality, and promise in the youthful artists featured in the Dare County High Schools Annual Art Show at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
The exhibition features two and three dimensional handcrafted art including: ceramics, stained glass, wood and fiber art, mixed media, digital art, printmaking, sculpture, paintings, drawings, and photography.
The efforts of Dare County students will fill the Art Gallery from floor to ceiling for pure viewing delight. By provoking creativity and prompting students to explore this inherent quality, Dare County arts teachers are helping to raise well rounded adults ready to take up the torch for the next generation
The youthful artists often showcase fresh and highly creative work. Their art is not weighed down by the constraints more often felt by adult artists including the necessity of creating sellable work.
Talented local teachers encourage their students to explore concepts, techniques, mediums, styles, history and subject matter. Within the mix there are individuals ready to go on to art school and those who appreciate the arts, but have their eyes on other paths.
Whether the student becomes an artist or a bookkeeper, the stamp left on them through cultural arts education is indelible.
